About Taj Mahotsav
Taj Mahotsav is one of the most eagerly awaited event of Agra tourism. It is being celebrated successfully since 1992 and keep on gaining more and more popularity among tourists. It is celebrated from the 18th - 27th of the February At Shilpgram Near the eastern Gate of the Taj. Shilpgram in Agra is a platform for artists from various parts of India. It is an annual 10 days event of Art and Culture. In fact It is the colorful and vibrant program spread the information about India, Indian culture, art, dance and Music. It is celebrated to promote rich arts, crafts, culture, cuisine, dance and music of the state and country. Taj Mahal is the most beautiful historical place of India which tells about INCREDIBLE INDIA. This festival induce the memories of the old Mughal Era and Navabi style wide spread in Uttar Pradesh. Taj Mahotsav is organized by UP tourism and it is a source to increase the Indian Tourism. This festival also figure in the calendar of the department of the tourism, govt of India. A large number of Indian and foreign tourists coming to Agra join this festivity of multi facets. The venue of the festival of Taj Mahotsav is Shilpgram, which is a stone's throw away distance from Taj Mahal. The festival starts with a parade, including bejeweled elephants and camels, drum beaters, folk artists and master craftsmen. A major highlight of this festival is the availability of fabulous works of art and craft at the most genuine prices that are not shooted up by high maintenance cost.

Art & Craft
This Parade is an attempt to reconstruct the royalty of the Mughals. More than 400 legendary artist from different part of country exhibits their exquisite works of Art. The crafts include woodcarvings of Saharanpur, brass and other metal ware of Moradabad, handmade carpets of Badohi, blue pottery of Khurja, Chikan work of Lucknow, silk and Jari of Varanasi, pottery from Khurja, shawls and carpets from Kashmir/Gujarat, hand printing from Farrukhabad, wood/stone carvings from Tamil Nadu, bamboo/cane work from North East India, kantha stitch from West Bengal, and paper & mash work from South India.

Culture
Apart from this exquisite art work, visitors also entertained from some of the spectacular performances by artists from every nook and corner of the country. The folk dances are sure to immerse you in their magic and keep you charm for a long time. Throughout The Taj Mahotsav we can feel the fusion of Folk, Classical and dances of many regions. Mainly the Brij Bhoomi, They performed in older way and it is enthralling experience that you would not stop yourself from joining with the dancers. On the other hand of the folk, The mahotsav also exhibit the performance from the world known artist of classical, semi classical and other popular art forms.

Cuisines
Getting taste of Indian multi-cuisines in one platform is possible at Taj Mahotsav. Here we can find participants from various corners of India, gathers and brings taste of their region. For some visitors, it is a cuisine festival of food-festival where you can get some of the oldest and the most typical delicacies from the interiors of Uttar Pradesh and from the other part of India like chole bhature, Indian samosa, poori sabji, gulab jamun, Lucknavi kebab, South Indian dosa, Amritsari naan, Hyderabadi biryani etc. We have heard about these dishes in various books and print media but here we have chance to get their taste and know about their cooking process.
